Navegando por Youtube hemos encontrado un documento único. El lunes 28 de enero, alguien subió completa la entrevista de 37 minutos que el cineasta italiano Roberto Rossellini le hiciera en 1971 a Salvador Allende. El maestro Rossellini -un declarado hombre de izquierda y uno de los directores que impulsó el neorrealismo italiano con filmes como Roma Ciudad Abierta y Paisá- viajó a Chile para documentar de labios del propio Allende, en qué consistía este socialismo a la chilena. Con apenas 8 meses en el cargo, el Presidente habla desde los origenes de su pensamiento político, luego realiza una defensa de su programa y un análisis de los problemas que aquejan a América Latina.
Exhibida por primera vez en el Festival de Trevignano en Italia, el filme fue bautizado como Intervista a Salvador Allende: La Forza e la ragione (Entrevista a Salvador Allende, la Fuerza de la Razón). El 15 de septiembre de 1973, cuando La Moneda todavía exalaba el humo tras el bombardeo, los italianos veían por televisión este documento homenajeando al extinto Presidente.
"Pienso en el hombre del siglo XXI como un ser humanizado, con un alto nivel de valores, que no se deje llevar por el ansia del dinero y la explotación", le dice a Allende a Rossellini hacia el final del filme. Un proyecto que para Allende y Chile sonaba posible, pero que se quedaría lamentablemente entre los escombros de la Unidad Popular dos años y medio después.
A pesar de estar en italiano -de todas formas se entiende bastante- es realmente un privilegio ver este filme, diseccionado en 4 partes que ahora ponemos a disposición.

I caught the movie from a programme always broadcasted late in the deep night wherein many rare films are usually shown: italian television usually plays garbage, and, above all, Berlusconi's televisions are specialized on garbage.
This movie was played at 2.00 AM on the third public channel, the only one with general left wing point of view and the only one able to do so often good television.
Unfortunately it's italian dubbed but I was so happy to share it among the many other historical and rare pearls existing on YouTube.
